Terms of Service
Last Updated: February 2026
By authorizing Redding CompuCare to perform work on your equipment, you agree to the following terms and conditions. These terms constitute a binding legal agreement.
1. Authorization to Perform Work
You authorize Redding CompuCare (the "Service Provider") to perform diagnostic, repair, and upgrade work on your computer hardware, software, and peripherals. You grant permission to physically access your equipment and to access digital files as necessary to perform the requested service.
2. Data Loss & Liability (Crucial)
IMPORTANT: DATA BACKUP RESPONSIBILITY
Redding CompuCare is NOT responsible for any data loss, corruption, or disclosure of data before, during, or after the service process.
2.1 Customer Responsibility
It is the customer's sole responsibility to back up all data, software, and files prior to submitting the device for service. Hardware failure is unpredictable, and the stress of diagnostic testing can sometimes cause failing components to cease functioning completely.
2.2 Privacy
We will not browse your files for any reason other than what is strictly necessary to perform the repair (e.g., verifying data recovery or checking OS integrity). We treat all client data with strict confidentiality.
3. Rates & Payment
Labor Rate: Our standard rate is $125.00 per hour. Diagnostic fees may apply if repair is declined.
- Payment is due in full upon completion of the service.
- We accept Cash, Checks, and major Credit Cards.
- Hardware/Parts must be paid for in advance or at the time of ordering.
4. Warranty Policy
4.1 Labor Warranty
We offer a 30-day warranty on all labor performed. If the exact same issue reoccurs within 30 days, we will correct it at no additional labor cost.
4.2 Parts Warranty
New hardware components are subject to the manufacturer's warranty. Redding CompuCare will assist in facilitating manufacturer returns within 30 days of purchase, but we do not offer independent warranties on third-party hardware.
4.3 Exclusions
Warranty does not cover: viral re-infection, physical damage caused by the user, issues unrelated to the original repair, or software issues caused by user modification.
5. Unclaimed Property
Any equipment left with Redding CompuCare for more than 60 days after notification of completion (or notification of non-repairability) will be considered abandoned.
In accordance with California Civil Code, abandoned property may be disposed of, recycled, or sold to recoup service costs. We will make reasonable attempts to contact you before this action is taken.
6. Apple/Mac Policy
As stated on our website and in our shop, we do not service Apple/Macintosh products. If an Apple device is checked in under the pretense of being a PC, a diagnostic fee will still apply for the time taken to intake the device.
7. Limitation of Liability
In no event shall Redding CompuCare be liable for any indirect, special, incidental, or consequential damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of revenue, or loss of profits, arising out of the service provided.
